If you liked my Cinnamon Chicken recipe you’re gonna love this. Hot, crispy cinnamon chicken sittin pretty on top of a golden toasted waffle drenched in butter and maple syrup.
Like I said in the original CC recipe you want bone-in, skin-on, chicken thighs which are crazy cheap – usually around a buck-19 a pound.
Frozen waffles are fine (Eggo or store brand) – buttermilk. A little softened butter and some maple flavored syrup (which, as I’m sure you know, has absolutely no maple in it) and you’re in business.
Need This
4 cinnamon chicken thighs (See recipe in Recent Posts)
4 frozen waffles
Salt
Cayenne pepper (optional)
Maple flavored syrup
Butter
Do This
Toast the waffles in a toaster (or toaster oven) until nicely browned.
Slap a tablespoon of butter in the center of each waffle.
Drizzle the maple syrup over the waffles – messy-like.*
Top each waffle with a sizzling hot cinnamon chicken thigh.
Sprinkle a little salt and cayenne pepper over top (or not).
Serve hot with sharp knives and additional maple syrup on the side.
Serves 4. My cost approx. $ 6.40 total – about $ 1.60 per serving.
*So that some of the syrup lands on the plate next to the waffle – and on which you’ll blop a big honking piece of cinnamon chicken. GMN
